A few months ago, a writer friend of mine was looking for some specific feedback on a piece they'd written. And I said, "oh, I know just the person!" and I connected the two of them, and they had a great chat. Both sides told me it was productive and helpful.

That whole series of events was, basically, pure luck. What if there was a way to reliably make this kind of thing happen?

Double Jump is our attempt to make more of those connections.

We think the world would be a better place if the following were true:

  1. More people asked for help.

  2. More people helped others.

But asking for help can be a little awkward. And if even you can get over that discomfort, it’s sometimes hard to know who you’re supposed to ask. The same is true for helping others. Most of us would love to be helpful, but it’s hard to know who you’re supposed to help, and how. Hence: Double Jump.

It’s simple:

1/ You fill out this form with a bit about you and what could be helpful. You can ask for help with almost anything. Like:

  • “I want to run a research project and need a $500 grant”

  • “I just moved to London and want to meet other people who are interested in reading and writing”

  • “I’m working on this new side project and want some early feedback”

2/ We read every request manually.

3/ We share those requests with ~10,000 people in the Double Jump newsletter.

And then, if someone reading thinks they can be helpful, they’ll reach out. We believe that, over time, you will likely find yourself in both positions: the person asking for help with something and the person helping others.

If this sounds interesting, subscribe (free) to the Double Jump newsletter here. This way you'll see when your requests go out, and you'll also see requests from other people who you may be able to help.

We hope Double Jump helps make connections that otherwise would not have happened, and helps people make progress on their goals faster :)
